( james )(áááá2 shotááá) back to our other big story this morning. officials are meeting this morning to vote to increase tolls on the golden gate bridge. kron4's sara stinson is live at the golden gate bridge with more on the proposals under consideration. today - golden gate bridge officials will consider a proposal to increase tolls over the next five years starting july first. there are two different scenarios the golden gate bridge, highway and transportation district board of directors could pick.one option would

increase tolls for fastrak drivers by 30-cents yearly making it 8.50 to cross the bridge.for pay as you go customers it would cost nine dollars and those who use the invoice billing to nine dollars and 75 cents over five years.this would raise approx 90 million dollars over five years.the other option being considered today is more expensive for fastrak drivers rising tolls 35 cents a year making it eight dollars and 75 cents.for pay as you go it would be nine dollars and invoice billing would have to pay nine dollars and 75 cents. this would raise a 100 millon dollars over five years. the bridge district says they need to increase tolls to pay for operations, leasing equipment,

discovered evidence. ghostship warehouse creative director max harris and master tennant derick almena are charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter for the fire during a music party in oakland that killed 36 people in 2016. almena and harris' trial is set to begin april second. new this morning. two san francisco supervisors want to close down the city's juvenile hall. supervisors hillary ronen and shamann walton say the city is spending more than 13 million dollars a year to lock kids up in a juvenile hall ... that they say is 70 to 75 percent empty. a proposal is being drafted to close san francisco's juvenile hall by the year 20-21 ... and instead use city money to pay for a non-institutional rehab center with various programs and services. the center would serve as a new model for youth who have to be detained per

( james ) a suspected arson caught on camera... and now san mateo police are asking for help in identiying the suspects.. wanted for setting the blaze. at least 3 fires were set within a 30 minute span early thursday morning. the two men are spotted walking in an alleyway around 3:30am... targetting garbage cans behind a blood center on 2nd avenue.. then setting another fire near a parking garage. the last fire was in front of the joseph a bank on 3rd avenue ( james ) it's still unclear what they used to set these fires. the police are looking for more people to come forward with any information or possibly more surveillance video.

( james ) a big story this morning. fallout from the college admission cheating scandal keeps growing. u-c-l-a men's soccer coach jorge salcedo has resigned. he was indicted for conspiracy to commit racketeering and accepting bribes. salcedo's role in the scandal involves helping two students get on soccer teams ... even when neither of them played the sport. one of those students is lauren isackson from hillsborourgh in san mateo county. she was part of the women's soccer team in 20-17 ... despite having no previous experience, according to prosecutors. her parents have been charged for taking part in the scam. new this morning... a man's body was found in coyote creek lake in san jose police recovered the body near monterey and metcalf roads yesterday morning. a hiker finding the body and told an area maintenance who called law enforcement. investigators don't believe he was murdered.

police in san francisco are questioning a 56-year-old man after a deadly stabbing at fisherman's wharf. officers say -- they arrestd ábruce penná after finding 44-year-old ábrook johná on the sidewalk. john was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries. investigators are trying to figure out áwhyá the stabbing happened. they say both men frequently visited the fisherman's wharf area. ( will ) palo alto police are asking for the public's help in identifying an intruder who walked into a woman's bedroom in the middle of night. investigators want to track this intruder down before he strikes again. kron4's haaziq madyun the latest details on the investigation. it is after 3am. a woman is alone in her bedroom studying when suddenly the bedroom door opens and she sees this facesot

(james) in the east bay... one woman is getting closure... after her mother's cold case murder was solved. investigators have been working the case for nearly 40 years. now the suspect is awaiting trial. kron 4's gayle ong has the story.

( james ) a tree trimmer in fresno is recovering... after an accident while he was working on a palm tree. but he didn't fall out of the tree ... he fell into it. helmet cam video captured the moments the worker got trapped between palm fronds. you can see half of the workers body covered by debris. fire crews were called and gave the man an oxygen mask as they wokred to free him. firefighters described the tedious process.

couldn't see his safety rope -- which we knew was holding him to some degree. we didn't want to cut his rope and we couldn't see him clearly, so we had to one by one move them out.">( james ) it took crews 45 minutes to get the man out. he was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. (james) our big story this morning out the east bay. no plea deal in a domestic violence case that critically injured a pittsburg principal. prosecutors say the wife shot and tried to kill her husband. kron 4's dan kerman has the latest developments. it was early saturday morning when police entered this pittsburg home and found this man paul shatswell with a gunshot wound to the head. his wife maria vides was arrested and thursday afternoon she made her first court apperance. after being charged with attempted willful deliberate and predediated murder.special allegations have been added for using a firearm and causing shatwell to become comatose due to a brain injury as well as suffer paralysisvides did not enter a

plea... this was due to the fact that the charges may be amended in the coming week, if shatswell does not survivesot alison chandler/deputy district attorney :43family and friends of the couple did not want to speak on camera but off camera one said she just couldn't understand how this could happen.shatswell, the father of 8 children, and the principal at the pittsburg adult education center remains hospitalized in critical condition and support. standup dan kerman/pittsburg 110 ( james ) new this morning... a man shot and killed in atlanta has close ties with wariors star kevin durant. according to the new york post... durant referred to clifford dixon as his adopted brother. dixon

was found shot to death thursday outside a lounge where he was celebrating his birthday. police say he was standing outside in the parking lot when somebody walked up and shot dixon several times. the gunman took off. dixon played high school basketball with durant. durant also thanked dixon during his speech after he was named m-v-p back in 2014. kevin durant's mother took to twitter to offer her condolences to the dixon family. the raiders have pretty much hung up on the moving company and their movers the oakland city council voted to approve the lease for 2019 with an option for 20-20. the alameda county board of supervisors had voted earlier in the week in favor of the lease. and it was approved by the coliseum authority last week. the raiders will pay 7-point-5 million dollars in rent for the coliseum and the practice facility in alameda in 2019. that rent would go up to 10-point-5 million in 20-20... if the raiders

have to stay in oakland for yet another final season... that would only be if their vegas stadium is not ready yet. colin colin kaepernick and eric reid will receive less than 10-million dollars from the n-f-l ... after settling their collusion case.that's according to the wall street journal. they filed collusion grievances against the league, saying they were blacklisted because of protests during the national anthem at games. kaepernick has not played in the league since 2016, while reid missed three games last season before signing with carolina.
